Ethiopian Airlines assisted in evacuation from Afghanistan

Ethiopian Airlines operated several charter flights from Al Udeid Air Base to Washington Dulles with its Airbus A350-900 and Boeing 787-9.

Context: 20 years occupation of Afghanistan by the US came to an abrupt end in August 2021. The US ordered several airlines to help with the evacuation.

Driving the News: A man who had been convicted of rape and deported from the U.S. flew in one of the chartered Ethiopian Airlines flights.
