Oct 21: Abeba Bikila wins gold at 1964 Tokyo Olympics

Oct 21, 1964: Abeba Bikila won the Tokyo Olympics marathon with a new world record time of 2:12:11.20. This was his second Olympic gold, winning his first in Rome in 1960. Unlike in Rome, he was not barefeet.
