Nov 9, 1995: Melaku Mekebeb hijacked a Greek Boeing 747 plane, as it was en route to Athens. He hijacked the plane to avoid being sent back to Ethiopia. He grabbed a hostess and threatened to kill her with a knife from a food tray unless his demands were met. There were no injuries to any of the 114 people on board.
